Our Students in
the Spotlight
Some have gone on to star in films and perform on the West End stage, while others have used the confidence, creativity, and skills they developed at Razzamataz to pursue their dream careers beyond the spotlight as well as feeling more confident at school and expanding their social connections. Here are just a few of our favourite success stories.

Mila's Story
Mila started her acting journey at Razzamataz Theatre Schools Hackney when she was four. She made so many lovely friends and it really helped her develop the skills and confidence that led her to be cast as Mabel, Bridget’s daughter, in Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy. This iconic film, based on Helen Fielding’s beloved book, hit cinemas in February 2025 and what an incredible, life-changing opportunity for Mila to share the screen with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

Lewis's Story
Diagnosed with T1 diabetes aged 2 but has gone on to successfully enjoy all his after school activities, despite battling with wearing an insulin pump on a canula & a continuous glucose monitor, which tells his parents and teachers what levels his blood glucose are 24/7. "My favourite part is dance & I’m getting more confident in singing & drama. My mummy started Razzamataz 25 years ago & I love being part of the Razzamataz family."

Hollie's Story
Hollie age 21 was a student at Razzamataz for more than ten years, from the ages of five to 15. She's now studying Marine Biology at Rollins College in Florida, on a four-year degree course. She is also a Bonner Leader, a programme for committed undergraduate students designed to transform the lives of those participating. "Razzamataz gave me loads of life skills but the one that has probably helped me the most is confidence. While I was taking my GCSE's and A Levels, being a Razzamataz student helped me with my presenting skills. All the performances we did were great practice for standing in front of the class presenting."

Flynn's Story
Flynn joined Razzamataz Bognor when he was seven years old. His proudest moment was winning Razz Has Got Talent in 2019, which was judged by actor and singer Danny Mac. “I love going to Razz to see all my friends. All the teachers and children there make it like a family. I love learning new skills each week and enjoys the challenges that we sometimes face such as perfecting a new dance move. I also think my confidence has grown so much as a result of coming to Razz.” Flynn's Mum says: “As parents we cannot ask for more. He has grown in more ways than we could have dreamed of due to his Principal and teachers. Flynn enjoys going every week and loves sharing all the new things he has learnt.”

Hannah Mae's Story
Hannah-Mae, age 23, currently lives in London and is an Assistant Video Producer working in the Commercial Video team at Global and producing branded video content across radio brands such as Capital FM, Heart and Radio X. She attended Razzamataz Carlisle for 11 years and started when she was 5 years old. "Although I didn't go down the performing arts route, I am still working in a creative industry. So, a lot of the skills that I learnt at Razzamataz are super transferable when I need to produce videos and work with talent and crews. There's also the more hands-on skills like writing scripts, prop buying, working with stylists. And there's the interpersonal skills such as teamwork, communication and motivation."

Robson's Story
Robson from Razzamataz Medway was a winner of The Stage Scholarship and was awarded funding via the Razzamataz's Future Fund Charity. Since leaving college, he has landed roles in two iconic West End shows, Hamilton and Moulin Rouge. "Winning The Stage scholarship gave me a huge boost of confidence. I was also offered financial assistance through The Razzamataz charity Future Fund and the audition itself was another good learning experience. It's an amazing industry and during my time at the school, I got to meet lots of performers through the special guest workshops and now it is incredible that I'm in that privileged position myself."

Jasmine's Story
Jasmine joined Razzamataz Leeds in 2018 and one of her proudest moments was being part of the summer show and winning the Principals’ Special Award. She says that since starting Razzamataz she has felt much more confident to take part in different experiences. Mum says: “Just like Jasmine has felt her own confidence grow in her first year at Razzamataz, we too have seen a huge boost in her confidence. This has been evident in all areas of Jasmine's life. The values at Razz mirror our family values and I know that this is largely the reason that Jasmine feels so happy there. The support from Jude and Phil (and their teaching staff) has been incredible, right from Jasmine's first visit. Jasmine has a blood clotting disorder (Von Willebrand Disease) and so it can be nerve wracking to leave her with other people. I know at Razz I don't need to worry, they keep a VERY watchful eye on her.”

Portia's Story
Portia joined Razzamataz Medway in 2015 and is keen to share her experiences about how Razzamataz helped her develop a positive mindset. “I love the positivity radiated from all staff and students in all classes. My mood always seems to be uplifted once I’m doing what I love with amazing people around me. My proudest achievement at Razz has to be my role as Deloris in Sister Act in the 2019 summer show. Although this may not be the biggest opportunity Razz has given me compared to something like performing at the O2 or Her Majesty’s Theatre, I feel I grew as a performer throughout the whole process and learnt more about myself. Singing is not my strongest asset, however the buzz and excitement after the Seniors show proved to me I am more than capable of doing anything with the correct mindset. With the encouragement of my Razz teachers, I feel I did myself proud. Joining the Razz family has definitely changed my outlook on many things in life as I’ve learnt to approach situations with a more positive mindset. I’ve learnt how to not let any doubts stop me from attempting new things due to fear of failure. It’s OK to fail, as long as you take it as a learning for the next time you try in the future. I’m so thankful for the strong support system at Razz as there’s no better feeling than knowing your teachers are there for you outside of the studio too. My greatest ambition for the future is just to be successful and happy in whatever I do.”

Liam's Story
Liam has been a student at Razzamataz Paisley for the last ten years. He has recently left to follow his acting career and his dreams of becoming a professional performer. The young actor from Hunterhill in Paisley has landed a part in hit TV show Outlander, the popular time-travelling romantic adventure along with stars, Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Fraser and Sam Heughman, as Jamie Fraser. Liam won the part of a supporting actor in the series and plays a young soldier in Jamie Fraser’s militia. He has also been given a speaking part in several episodes. Outlander is produced by Starz – an American premium cable and satellite television network – and the show is hugely popular in the US as well as the UK. Liam will appear in Series 5 of Outlander. Liam joined Razzamataz when he was six years-old and has also been cast in The Demon Headmaster, a children’s TV drama on CBBC. Liam hopes to continue his studies by winning a coveted place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to study drama when he leaves school.

Isla's Story
Isla joined Razzamataz Medway and enjoys being part of the additional classes such as Training Squad. “I love everything about Razz, all the songs we learn are jazzy and upbeat! I love dance and getting better every week at my dance moves. I’m really enjoying Training Squad, that’s challenging me and making me better in all my classes. I was really proud to be part of our ‘opening cast’ team for our annual show and getting to work with all ages across the Razz family. I loved working with the Seniors and learning from them. Razz has made me more confident and now I love to talk in front of everyone at school assemblies and in class. I’m so thankful for all the opportunities I get from Razz, from auditioning for talent agencies, to being part of opening cast and now joining Training Squad. I’m very thankful for the amazing teachers who always give me new challenges and choose songs that we enjoy. In the future I dream of performing and being in films or singing on stage.” Mum says: Razzamataz Medway is an amazing school. The teachers are so enthusiastic and happy. Their passion for what they do shines through and makes it an amazing place for my children to have fun and learn all about dance, drama and singing. Letting our superstars shine and grow every day in confidence.”

I love it because it makes me feel special and unique in my own way. It has boosted my confidence to do bigger things. If I had not joined I would not of had the opportunity to work on The Worst Witch. I have also made some great friends that I hope will be for life. I love attending Razz and I miss it when I am filming." Luciana's Story
Luciana joined Razzamataz Sutton Coldfield in 2017 and has gone on to appear in the TV programme The Worst Witch on CBBC, where she was cast as a series regular character. She has also filmed an advert for McDonalds. "I love Razz sessions because of their amazing energy and good vibes. Everyone is friendly and it feels like we are a big family. I always feel happy during the lessons. My proudest achievement was when I was given one of the awards in the 2018 Razzamataz Sutton Coldfield End Of Year Student Award Ceremony. I was not expecting it at all! Receiving the award was, once again, my Razz family telling me they believed in me. I was over the moon and it meant so much to me. At Razz, I always feel supported and encouraged to try new things. I then became more confident and discover new things about myself. I realised that I was not afraid anymore to be on a stage, I loved it! I started to look forward to the shows and rehearsals with my Razz family. What I am the most grateful for is that my teachers always showed me they believed in me, and now I finally believe in myself too. In the future I would like to be an actress and a performer. I would also like to be an author! I know I still have a lot to learn but now I believe in myself and that is what matters the most." Mum says: “At Razzamataz, Luciana is encouraged to show her real self and embrace it. She now finally believes that being yourself is the most special thing you can ever be. What our children have been taught is a lot more than how to dance, act or sing. Razz has given a real life lesson about commitment, dedication, supporting others and team work.”
