Razzamataz Theatre Schools York has been inspiring young performers since 2011 when Angela Pickup opened the school after struggling to find the perfect theatre arts class for her daughter, Hollie. Spotting a gap in the market, Angela brought the Razzamataz magic to York, offering top-quality singing, dancing, and drama training to children and young people. Hollie was the first student, and by 17, she was already working at the school. From front-of-house to classroom assistant, and later vocal coach, she gained hands-on experience in performing arts education. Now, at 24, she is proud to take the lead as principal, continuing the incredible journey her mum started. Passionate about musical theatre and helping children shine, Hollie is excited to build confidence in every student, from their first class to dazzling on stage. Seeing shy children grow into fearless performers is what makes Razzamataz York so special. Whether it’s a London performance, an annual showcase, or just a boost in self-esteem, the impact of performing arts is life-changing.
