Mildred Hubble is the heroine of the story and Tamara will play her best friend Enid Nightshade. The established cast features Clare Higgins from Doctor Who, Raquel Cassidy from Downton Abbey, Butterflies star Wendy Craig and EastEnder Kacey Ainsworth among others.

“We are incredibly proud of Tamara and wish her the best of luck in The Worst Witch,” says Michael French, Principal of Razzamataz Barnet. “We will miss her energy and enthusiasm every week in class while filming is in progress but we can’t wait to see the finished result.”

Tamara has been a student at Razzamataz Barnet for the last three years and during this time, she was selected to join Razzamataz’s partner casting agent Top Talent, where she was asked to audition for The Worst Witch.

“The audition process was very long, over four months in total,” said Tamara. “It was nerve racking but at the same time very exciting. When I found out I had got the part I felt really excited because I know it is going to be an amazing experience. Being a student at Razzamataz has helped to build up my confidence and self-esteem and the lessons are really good fun.”

Filming will take place on location in Cheshire throughout the summer, with additional filming in Germany. The Worst Witch will be shown on CBBC early 2017.

Razzamataz Barnet offers a wide range of performing arts styles for children ranging in age from 2-18. Together with the chance to audition for Top Talent Agency and guest workshops from industry professionals, the students have the opportunity to take part in many performances, both within the community and on a larger stage.

The students at Razzamataz Barnet attend classes in singing, dancing and drama every Saturday at Wren Academy, North Finchley. During the session, they participate in many different areas of performing arts covering various styles from street dance and pop singing through to classic West End musical theatre numbers as well as acting for stage and screen.
