Dreams really can come true especially for the 29 youngsters at First Choice Holiday Village in Ibiza who had the amazing experience of performing on the same stage as girl group The Saturdays.
The children were all enjoying taking part in the Razzamataz Summer Stage Academy, a three-day performing arts workshop run by Razzamataz Theatre Schools, a UK national chain of part time performing arts schools.
The incredible performance opportunity on August 1st was to celebrate 10 years of First Choice Holiday Villages and gave The Saturdays a chance to promote their new single ‘What Are You Waiting For.’
During the Razzamataz workshop, the children who ranged in age from 5-12, performed a dance to The Saturdays hit song ‘Higher’ and got the surprise of their lives when The Saturdays came on stage behind them to applaud their performance. Later on, the Razzamataz students performed their routine live on stage before announcing The Saturdays who performed five of their hit songs.
Razzamataz recruits 26 teachers for the 13 First Choice Holiday Villages, working in partnership with First Choice UK providing Razzamataz Stage Academies for the eighth summer season running.
“We were delighted to be able to give the Razzamataz students this amazing opportunity,”says Debbie Mitchell, First Choice Recruitment Manager and Support Mentor. “Our Summer Stage Academies and our UK schools not only provide fantastic training in dance, drama and singing but we also believe in offering lots of performance opportunities and experiences that the children will remember for the rest of their lives. Performing on the same stage as The Saturdays would have really made the summer for these children.”
Razzamataz shot to prominence in 2007 after an appearance on BBC’s Dragons’ Den and Duncan Bannatyne became an investor. The business has grown from strength to strength since the Den with franchise schools opening up across the UK.
“Teachers at First Choice Holiday Villages are also trained in all aspects of PR, and are given marketing materials to promote our brand in the UK,” adds Debbie. “Flyers are given with 10% off an introductory term at Razzamataz in the UK.”
