Doing their bit for charity and introducing friends to the world of performing arts while having a fun PJ party is all in a day’s work for the students of Razzamataz Theatre Schools.

Up and down the country, students are donning their pyjamas and onesies to raise money for the company’s charity Future Fund, which helps to finance a scholarship of a former student to train at a performing arts college or university.

Furthermore, the students were encouraged to bring a friend to enjoy the Razzamataz experience with a special invite to allow them the opportunity to try a new experience.

“We have had a number of PJ days before, which the children have absolutely adored and we have raised a lot of money for our charity Future Fund,” said Denise Hutton-Gosney, MD and Founder of Razzamataz. “Working with students from the ages of tots through to teens, we understand the importance of finding new experiences to help them develop. But whatever age the child is, it can be challenging to join in with a new class or enter a new environment, even if it is something they think they will love.”

To help to encourage youngsters to try something new, all the schools within the Razzamataz network will allow current students to invite a friend along for the day to let them experience performing arts fun.

There are almost 50 schools across the country and each child that attends will be presented with a voucher to entitle a friend of their choosing the chance to join them at Razzamataz and take part in the dancing, singing and acting classes at no cost.

“We have loved seeing the photos and videos that our schools produce of their students having fun on our national PJ days,” adds Denise. “By donating a little bit of spare change, we have been able to help finance our students through performing arts college or university and are now in the position of watching their success in the performing arts industry. A recent Future Fund winner has just secured a role in the West End and global hit Hamilton. It’s wonderful to know that we have been a small part of that.”

Regardless of whether children want to have a career in the performing arts, the skills in which they learn at Razzamataz enables them to better express themselves, leading to increased confidence and self-esteem.

“Our national PJ Party is a lovely way to support our existing students, while also opening up the potential of performing arts to so many more children,” adds Denise. “This year we celebrate our 18-year anniversary and across many of our schools, former students have turned into our teachers, so it really is a full circle for them and us.”

To celebrate 18 years of successful business, Razzamataz is giving more people the opportunity of joining the network. Until the end of 2018, there will be no up-front franchise fee of £7,995 plus VAT to pay. All that will be required is the £4,000 initial marketing launch and £5,000 working capital as opposed to circa £20,000 that would have included the franchise fee. Candidates who choose not to pay the upfront franchise fee, will pay 20% MMF instead of 10% over three years or nine terms.

With almost 50 schools up and down the country, now is an exciting time to become part of the network, which includes an award-winning franchisee. Known as the biggest and most influential event in the franchising world, Razzamataz was delighted to be among the winners at the British Franchise Association (bfa) Awards 2018.
