Inside the Razzamataz Conference: Where People Come First

From the moment you step into the Razzamataz Conference, the energy is unmistakable, a room alive with creativity, big ideas and people who genuinely care. While it brings together franchisees and managers to examine the business of running a theatre school, Razzamataz has always been, and always will be, about people first. The people shaping confident businesses, and most importantly, confident futures for the next generation.

Across three inspiring days, the Conference explored what it means to run a future-focused business, from embracing the latest technology to building sustainable growth. But at its core, Razzamataz remains proudly human, built on connection, creativity and the power to make a positive impact on children and communities.

Day One: wellbeing and mindset
Day one focused on giving franchisees the tools to thrive both personally and professionally. Franchisees and school managers began with a restorative wellness event, including accessible yoga, a coaching session to quiet the ‘monkey mind’ and a deeply relaxing sound bath, reinforcing that strong businesses start with supported people.

As Andrea White, Principal of Razzamataz Bognor and Horsham, shared:
“The yoga was a beautiful, gentle, restorative session. The teacher Karen immediately puts you at ease and allows you to work at your own level.”

Day Two: strategy, growth and real stories
Day two balanced the bigger picture with the practical detail. Sessions unpacked growth, sustainability, targets and KPIs, alongside honest conversations about earning a living in the performing arts. Technology also took centre stage, with tools such as Xero highlighted for how they can simplify finances and support confident decision-making.

Students remain at the heart of every Razzamataz school, and this was reflected throughout the event. Powerful real-life journeys were shared, including Jodie from Razzamataz Derby, who joined as a student aged 14 and is now Principal of her own school. The Conference also explored how initiatives like the Encore Programme help students take their first steps into the industry beyond the classroom.

Franchisees shared best practice, leadership insights and specialist knowledge, not just for Principals, but for managers too, strengthening teams across the network. Inspirational sessions included Nick from Sutton Coldfield, who reflected on ten years in business, and Helen Bell from Sheffield, who shared her journey from teacher to franchise owner while balancing family life.

Celebrating success
The Conference concluded with an unforgettable awards evening, featuring live entertainment, including fire eaters and musicians, and the much-anticipated Razzamataz Awards, celebrating franchisees who go above and beyond. The final day wrapped everything up, allowing franchisees to consolidate all they learned during the Business Review, giving them actionable steps to take for the year ahead.

Thank you for a wonderful conference. I was so shocked to have won, it was just the boost I needed! Thank you for believing in me and being so inspiring. Can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Amber, Razzamataz Stockton on Tees
As a Principal, I am aspiring to do exactly what you have done Denise in order to grow my business. Delegate, build a team of capable people and allow myself to take time for my family. You are absolutely leading from the front on this and that is so powerful in itself.

Jessica, Razzamataz Brentwood and various Essex schools
Thank you for such an inspirational Conference. I had the best time and have come away so motivated. Thank you for always believing in me and allowing us to have the most amazing career.

Alex, Razzamataz Bromley
We had a great time and learnt so much from ALL of the sessions! Last night was great fun and a chance to let our hair down (much needed). We are going home with new found enthusiasm and drive to delve deeper into our business and really connect at grass roots level.
