In their 25th year of business, Razzamataz Theatre Schools shows no sign of slowing down, with more passionate entrepreneurs joining the network and embracing the incredible opportunities that come with being a Razzamataz Principal. With industry-leading training and unwavering support, the network gives individuals
from all backgrounds the opportunity to build thriving theatre schools, even without prior business experience.
The latest cohort of new Principals has just completed their comprehensive franchise training in the stunning Lake District, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to launch and grow their own successful schools.
Being part of Razzamataz means joining a network of like-minded individuals, all united by their passion for the transformative power of the performing arts in young people’s lives. While Razzamataz Principals come from a wide range of backgrounds, some with experience in education or the arts, others completely new
to the industry, they all share one core belief: that every child deserves the chance to grow in confidence, creativity, and resilience through high-quality performing arts education.
Each new Principal brings their own unique experience and passion for the performing arts and their desire to support the next generation. Bethany, the new Principal of Razzamataz Bromley, has an impressive background in education and enjoys developing soft skills that help young people thrive both on and off the stage and screen. Abby, who is the franchisee of Razzamataz Chesterfield, has already witnessed the life-changing impact of Razzamataz during her time as a teacher and is excited to continue making a difference. In Bath, Ellese shares her passion to bring performing arts to as many young people as possible to nurture creativity and build life skills. Paige’s journey with Razzamataz spans seven years, progressing from teaching assistant to managerial roles, and now taking the leap to run Razzamataz Billericay, Chelmsford, and Maldon.
There are also a few existing Principals returning to training as they expand on their businesses by opening new schools in new territories. James and Esme, franchisees of Razzamataz Newcastle will be bringing their expertise to open new school Razzamataz Northumberland, while Jessica, who is the Principal of several Razzamataz schools in Essex, is becoming the first ever Master Franchisee, taking Razzamataz into the Republic of Ireland.
To support both new and existing franchisees in their new roles, there has been a host of specialised trainers to provide expert guidance in key areas, including business growth, marketing strategies, and operational management. These training sessions ensure that every Principal is fully equipped with the knowledge and
confidence to launch and run successful schools, delivering the high-quality experience that Razzamataz is known for.

Denise Gosney, Founder and MD of Razzamataz is personally involved in the training, offering her 25 years of expertise in running theatre schools. She is supported by various Head Office team members including Matty, the Operations Manager who is also an experienced Principal of the West Cumbria school. Matty led sessions on how to prepare and plan for launch day, the fundamentals of being a good Principal and how to motivate and support team members. The marketing side of being a franchisee is incredibly important which is why Hayley, a former multi-award winning Razzamataz franchisee who now leads as our Strategic Support & Business Development Manager, shared her marketing wisdom, including the many layers of marketing that franchisees can explore, from digital media to printed adverts and community events.
Starting a franchise comes with its own responsibilities which is why it is important to fully understand your obligations. Suzie, our franchise expert and well-known figure in the franchise world led sessions for our new Principals about the crucial aspects of being part of a franchise including their obligations and the mindset shift from employee to employer.
To complement this, specialist trainers were brought in to cover the fields of PR, Health & Safety, Safeguarding, GDPR, Lesson Planning, Digital Marketing, Approaching Schools and Overcoming Self-Limiting Beliefs.
But don’t take it from us, hear what our new Principals had to say about training.
Abby Gains, Razzamataz Chesterfield
“I really enjoyed gaining an insight into the business elements of running a franchise and what is needed to be done behind the scenes that you don’t see from a teacher’s perspective in the classes each week. For me the marketing, PR and socials are what I am really excited to start shouting about our school and raising the brand. I’m leaving inspired and excited to put together the plans for my launch day.”

Paige Ashton-Newman, Razzamataz Billericay, Chelmsford & Maldon
“I have found training really insightful and useful and I loved hearing from each of the different speakers all with their own expertise in each area. Feeling motivated to progress my school and to become a confident Principal, and having the training, tools, systems and processes behind me will help me in achieving this.”

Alex, Razzamataz Bromley
“Franchise training with Razzamataz has been incredibly insightful. I’m excited to go home, digest all the information, and start putting it into practice. The biggest takeaway for me was learning about the brands, especially from a PR and marketing perspective. I now understand the importance of selling a story rather than just the brand itself, it’s the story that truly sells the brand. I absolutely loved learning all about PR and marketing, and I feel more confident moving forward.”

Ellese, Razzamataz Bath
“I’ve really enjoyed learning more about the brand, as well as the marketing and PR aspects, especially how to effectively advertise. I’m excited to take away everything I’ve learned and can’t wait to put it all into practice and get started. I’m so eager to begin, I want to start right now!”
