Morning Routine
With two boys under the age of seven, the mornings are pretty hectic. We have also just got a new puppy called Honey so she needs to be let out first thing. The boys normally wake us up around 6.30am and then it’s busy getting them breakfast and making sure they are ready for school and nursery. Lennox is at school and Blane is still at nursery but he also goes to my granny, his great-granny, a couple of times a week after nursery. I get home around 9.30am and then get to have my breakfast, open my laptop and start work.
Work life
The thing I love about having my own business is that I don’t have to ask anyone if I want to take some time off during the day to watch one of the boys in a school show or if I have something I need to do with them. Blane currently has to attend hospital three times a week and I’m very grateful that I get to go with him to these appointments and I’m still able to work. This does mean that I have had to learn to work very intensely when I have the time and also that I do need to delegate some tasks. I have an admin assistant who helps me go through all the emails and Facebook/social media enquiries and general admin jobs. I also have an on-going To Do list to make sure both schools are running smoothly.
Early evening
Our new puppy Honey has been brilliant for the boys and we all love her so much already. She will come with me when I pick the boys up from school and there is a park nearby for a run-around. Lennox plays football three times a week so it is the usual juggle of making sure homework is done and he has all he needs for his after-school activities.
Wind down
Myself and my husband usually eat around 7pm and then I tend to go to bed at the same time as Blane because he isn’t a great sleeper at the moment. I like to chill out by listening to audio books and podcasts. I find self-development books really interesting and I’m currently really enjoying Jay Shetty, Tony Robbins and Oprah Winfrey.
